Plastic-Free Reusable Metal Razor, with 5 Blades

Billions of plastic razors are just thrown away each year, so obviously that's bad for the planet - and despite their convenience, they can also be pretty rubbish at giving you a decent shave.

So we're taking it back to the future with this unisex three-piece safety razor.

Made entirely from stainless steel with a super-slick chrome finish, there's not a spot of plastic to be found on this reusable razor. And thanks to its clever design, it's really simple to change the blades. (See How To Use It)

The design also helps to give you an incredibly close shave, meaning the razor is gentle on your skin, and can reduce the chance of getting ingrown hairs.

The blades themselves are totally replaceable when blunt, making this a razor you'll keep alongside you year after year.

This Mutiny razor comes with five standard stainless steel blades. More can be purchased with us here, or at most large supermarkets.

Go-on, it's an easy change.

The razor is made from stainless steel and covered with a layer of chromium, another type of metal.

The razors are made from stainless steel, and are wrapped in individual papers, and placed in their own cardboard box.

Both the razor and replaceable razor blades come in a recyclable cardboard box.

So this safety razor will probably outlive you. If you wish to get rid of it, then it's probably best to give it away.

If that for some reason is not possible, contact your local council to find out where scrap metal can be recycled.

Your razor blades will need to be disposed of safely when blunt & here's a handy tip from Katherine Kellogg, author of 101 Ways to Go Zero Waste:

She suggests making a kind of razor blade money box so you can recycle all the blades at once:  "Get a can of soup and make a hole in the top with a flat head screwdriver and a chisel that's big enough to fit a razor blade. Empty out all the soup, clean the can, and let it dry. Then, put in your razor blades every time you finish with them. Once the tin is full, which might take a lifetime, put a piece of tape over the hole and take it to a place that handles metal recycling."

The cardboard boxes and paper wraps can be placed in your recycle bin, or cut up and put in your garden compost.

We could try and describe how you change the blades on a three-piece safety razor with words, but why when someone's made a video about it? Click here for the video.

If you're a guy and you'd like to know how to shave with a safety razor, watch this video.

If you're a gal, this one's for you.

Note: We recommend using Friendly Soap's Natural Shaving Soap, which we have in stock!

This razor will have a much longer life if you keep it dry, so make sure you store it away from the sink!
